Autism Alberta’s Alliance Event, Connecting Communities, was held on June 13-14, 2024 with the goal of addressing opportunities to improve experiences, services and care within and for the autism community. Presentations and panels discussed findings from the Communities of Practices uniting stakeholders, fostering collaboration, knowledge-sharing and collective action.

Day 1, Sharing Possibilities, featured presentations on autism diagnosis, early childhood, education, post-secondary education, employment and housing.

Day 2, Braiding Indigenous Connections in Autism, was Indigenous led and focused on shared journeys and stories of Autistic Indigenous experiences..

A Resource Fair on Day 1 spotlighted vendors with employment initiatives while Day 2 had Indigenous entrepreneurs and resources. Our Youth Ambassador, Marco Secreti, a 15-year-old autistic young man, also showcased his beautiful artwork and cards.
