• You need a clinical assessment by a healthcare professional to qualify.

What it is:

• Alberta Works is a service administered by Alberta Employment and Immigration (E&I) that helps unemployed people find and keep jobs  and helps low-income Albertans cover their basic costs of living.

What it is:

• AISH is a program run by the Government of Alberta that provides financial support for living and health-related expenses to individuals with a permanent medical condition that limits their capacity to work.

Eligibility:

• Must meet age, residency, medical, and financial criteria.

What it is:

• Home Care is a program offered by Alberta Health Services that helps people with disabilities or health conditions remain well, safe, and independent in their homes and can include professional home support (such as medication management or personal hygiene).

Eligibility:

• You must live in Alberta with a valid healthcare card.
• Your needs must be able to be met safely in your place of residency.
• A Home Care case manager will assess your needs.

What it is:

• Provides financial support for people who are physically able to work but are not working right now or are not earning enough to pay for their basic needs.

Eligibility:

• Must live in Alberta, be at least 18 years old, and be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or refugee claimant.
• Must be unable to pay for your basic needs.
• Must either be: looking for work, working but not earning enough, unable to work for a short time, need help to access training to find a job, or are unable to work due to chronic health problems or other concerns.
• Must be willing to provide personal and financial information for all members of your household, and develop and follow a plan with your Income Support worker to improve your situation.

• PDD is a program run by the Government of Alberta that provides funding for various services to adults with disabilities, enabling them to live, work, and access services and/or community programs/

Eligibility:

• You must be 16+ when applying, and 18+ when services start.
• You must live in Alberta and be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
• You must have a developmental disability from before you were 18.
