Social ABCs: A Caregiver Mediated Intervention

Recorded January 31, 2024. This presentation gives a brief overview of the development of and research behind the Social ABCs Intervention, the journey to implementation into clinical settings, as well as some practical tips and strategies that families can try at home.

About the presenter

Sanne Jilderda joined the Autism Research Centre (ARC) team at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital as a psychometrist and research coordinator in the spring of 2016 from Toronto, where she had been working at the ARCs satellite sites at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital and SickKids Hospital since 2009. She has been involved with various autism research studies with focuses on early detection and development of high-risk infants through adolescence, early intervention of high-risk or diagnosed toddlers, and genetics.

Sanne has been a member of the Social ABCs parent mediated intervention hub team since 2017 as a parent coach and parent coach trainer. She has trained and supported implementation of Social ABCs for several clinical teams as part of the Ontario Autism Program and continues to coach families in the current virtual Social ABCs study.
